My Dogs

Rusty

Rusty is the newest member of our family.   He adopted us in March 2011.  You can read more about his story on the "Our Story" page.  He is about a year and half old and still very much a puppy.  He is the sweetest little pittie I've ever met.  He is my baby and my inspiration for wanting to change minds about the stigma and stereotype that go along with this breed, and of course the inspiration for this blog.

Emery & Rufio

These little pups are my first furbabies' Rufio the chihuahua, and Emery the pug.  They are both about 6 years old and were adopted when I was in college.  They have been with my through all the major events in my life, and I LOVE them to death.  It's hard to separate their personalities because they have been together since they were babies, and they have such similar personalities.  Both clearly have Napoleon syndrome, and think they are much bigger and scarier dogs than they actually are.  Rufio is a hopper......he was a kangaroo in another life, and has the ability to leap straight up into the air about 3 feet like he has springs built into his paws.  Emery just has the biggest puppy eyes and has a way of getting what he wants.

Emery

They both love to snuggle up in a warm lap or blanket.  They also love to tease their "little" brother Rusty and teach him new behaviors (good and bad), like how to sit and wait for the cue to eat (good), or how to stand by the treat container and beg for a treat, or inform us with loud squeals if we are even 5 minutes late for feeding time (bad).  I will say they have done very well welcoming their new brother into our home though.
